I am surprised by how few WordPress blogs have picked uo on this exciting news.
Earlier this week bbPress 2.0 final was released.
And about time too! WordPress has long needed an easy to integrate, clean, simple forum extension that lives up to the same level of quality as the blogging software.
Integrated WordPress Forum
Here’s a quick overview for those of you who haven’t followed the history of bbPress. This forum software is a WP spin off that brings forum functionality to your blog.
I think it is fair to say that version 1 was neglected for a fair old period, with few new features and growing distance from the core WordPress product.
bbPress 2.0 changes all that, the devs have worked hard to bring a whole new level of integration between the forum and blog. It is clear that the two products are now working closely with each other, the forum admin and functionality matches the expectations of bloggers surely making this the number one choice for anyone looking for the best WordPress forum.

Update: Turns out the Thesis theme doesn’t play nice with bbPress, some more work to do here I fear
